Seeking District 3 Members to be Candidates for Officer, Directors and D3 Committee on Nominations for 2024 Election Cycle

Dear District Nurses Association Three (DNA 3) Members: 

The annual MNA and District Election Process has started. We are writing to you to make you aware of the leadership opportunities for 2025 and 2026. We are hoping that you will give serious consideration to being a candidate for one of the positions to be elected in 2024. Last year MNA came close to having at least one candidate for each elected position on the District Ballots. D3 has been struggling to have a complete slate, and we hope with your help this year we can achieve that goal this year. There are six (6) leadership opportunities for D3 members in the 2024 District election.

 

The goal for the 2024 MNA & District Elections is to have a complete election ballot for each of the eight Districts. The positions to be elected in 2024 according to the 2020 DNA 3 Bylaws are as listed below and the term of office is for 2 years from JAN 01, 2025, through DEC 31, 2026.

CRITERIA to submit your name for a position:

• Be a MNA member in good standing
• Be willing to attend District 3's every other month scheduled meetings
• Submit a District Consent to Serve, the form is attached. 
• Provide a 200 word or LESS of your interest in serving in the position or positions
• Submit your candidate package in to D3 Committee of Nominations chairperson, Donna Downing-Corddry at donnacdowningcorddry@gmail.com NLT June 26, 2024.

 

DNA #3 Secretary- JAN 1, 2025 – DEC 31, 2026, for two-years:

1) Keep minutes of all meetings of this DNA and the Board of Directors.

2) Conduct general correspondence of this DNA and the Board of Directors.

3) Provide for the maintenance of all DNA meeting minutes and related documents in a place/manner accessible to DNA Board members. 

DNA #3 Treasurer- JAN 1, 2025 – DEC 31, 2026, for two-years:

1) Be accountable for the fiscal affairs of DNA 1 and shall provide written reports and interpretation of such reports to the DNA 1 Board of Directors and members.

2) Develop a DNA 1 budget annually for Board of Directors approval.

3) Serve as a member of the MNA Committee on Finance.

DNA #3 Director (2 positions) for two-years - JAN 1, 2025 – DEC 31, 2026:

1) Attend DNA Board of Directors Meetings.

2) Attend DNA Annual Membership Meeting.

3) Perform other duties as requested.

DNA #3 CON Member (2 position) for two-years – JAN 1, 2025 – DEC 31, 2026:

1) Help develop slate of candidates for DNA positions to be elected each year and

ensure a complete candidate application package for each District candidate.

2) Keep DNA 2 member of the MNA CON updated on progress in developing District Slate of Candidates

 

If you are interested in being a candidate for one of the positions above, which we hope you will be, what will be needed from you is the following information ASAP but No Later than 26 June 2024:

 

1) District Consent to Serve Form (attached)

2) 200-word or less essay addressing qualifications & interest in position. Please send the essay as a separate Word document with your name identified in the essay.

3) JPEG Photo (head & shoulders) – within the last 5 years preferred OPTIONAL
